Charter is committed to investing in the communities we serve and where our customers and our employees live and work. One of the ways we do that is through Spectrum Housing Assist—a program that provides critical home repairs across the country by partnering with nonprofit organizations and engaging our employees and community volunteers.

Charter launched Spectrum Housing Assist in 2014 with a goal of improving 25,000 homes. In 2018, we doubled that commitment to 50,000 homes by 2020. At a recent event we celebrated reaching that goal—Charter employee volunteers working with nonprofit partner Homefront reached the 50,000 goal on Saturday, Oct. 24 by repairing two homes in Stamford, CT, as well as completing exterior improvements at the local Boys & Girls Club.

Along the way, Charter has partnered with a number of nonprofit organizations, including the American Red Cross, Homefront, and Rebuilding Together, to help improve the homes and lives of thousands of people living in the company’s 41-state service footprint. Led by Charter’s employee volunteers, Spectrum Housing Assist home rebuilding projects have been held in 33 states—in large cities, suburban neighborhoods and in rural areas—and involved thousands of Charter employees and community members who worked more than 53,000 donated hours.

“Charter is committed to making a difference in the towns and cities where our customers and employees live and work, and from day one our employees have embraced the spirit of Spectrum Housing Assist,” said Tom Rutledge, Chairman and CEO of Charter. “Since we launched SHA six years ago, thousands of Charter employees have donated their time and skills, and by achieving this major milestone of improving 50,000 homes, they have made a tangible and meaningful impact in the communities we serve.”

Thanks to all the volunteers and Charter employees who worked hard over the last six years to help us reach this goal and improve the lives of those in the communities we serve. Take a look at how we got here.
